The investigative thriller 'Vettaiyan', starring the legendary duo Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, has completed 11 days at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 5 crore on its second Sunday.
Early estimates according to trade analyst Sacnilk indicate that the film's total collection has reached around Rs 134.25 crore in India.
On October 20, 2024, 'Vettaiyan' recorded a Tamil occupancy rate of 30.10%, with morning shows at 19.90%, afternoon shows at 36.25%, evening shows at 40.22%, and night shows at 24.04%. The film also had a Telugu occupancy of 19.21% and a Hindi occupancy of 12.49%. Despite a strong opening during the Dussehra weekend, where it grossed Rs 31.7 crore on its first day, the film experienced fluctuations in ticket sales throughout its run.
The overall box office performance has seen ups and downs, with collections dropping significantly after the initial week.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Rajinikanth plays a police officer known for his aggressive methods in tackling crime, while Amitabh Bachchan portrays Justice Dr. Sathyadev Bramhadutt Pande from the National Human Rights Commission.

'Vettaiyan' also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh in key roles.
Despite the film's high anticipation, it has only managed to collect approximately Rs 207 crore worldwide by the end of its first week.
According to various reports, the production house has approached Rajinikanth to discuss compensation for the film's financial shortcomings. They are reportedly asking him to consider doing another film for them and to reduce his fee for this future collaboration.
