For the Minnesota Twins, who have been playing very well recently, winning 11 games in a row, but now, the team is in a tough spot, as they are dealing with several injuries. In a recent game, their two players, Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton collided and had to miss the first game of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Ryan Fitzgerald makes his MLB debut
On Friday, the Twins decided to place Carlos Correa on the 7-day concussion list, which means he will miss at least a week. Another injury hit the team when third baseman Willi Castro hurt his knee in the first inning. He hit a foul ball into his own knee and had to leave the game, even though he tried to stay in. Now, while managing the current line up, Kody Clemens had to move to left field. Amidst difficulties, Ryan Fitzgerald managed to make his MLB debut at second base.
Fitzgerald has an inspiring story to share. He wasn’t picked in the MLB draft in 2016 and has worked hard in the minor leagues ever since. The Twins called him up after Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton were left injured. Even though the team is facing tough injuries, Fitzgerald’s debut brings a positive moment.
Carlos Correa placed on 7 day concussion list
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa was placed on the seven-day concussion list after he collided with Byron Buxton during Thursday’s game against the Orioles.
The two players ran into each other while chasing a fly ball in the third inning. While Correa was taken out of the game right away, Buxton left the game in the next inning.
Buxton has entered concussion protocol and missed Friday’s game against the Brewers.
