When Anup Jalota urged Salman Khan to apologize to the Bishnoi community
Singer Anup Jalota has stated that Bollywood actor Salman Khan should apologize to the Bishnoi community, expressing concern for the safety of his friends and family.
Accusations were made against the 'Dabangg' actor for hunting a blackbuck, an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. The incident took place in 1998 while filming 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Accordingly, multiple death threats have been directed at Salman Khan by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with this incident.

In discussing the murder of politician Baba Siddique and the threats directed at Salman, Jalota earlier expressed that it would be best for Salman to take immediate action. He suggested, “Salman Khan should first and foremost take the first flight and go to the Bishnoi temple and apologize to the community irrespective of whether he has done it or not. I don't want his friends or his family to be harmed. So the right thing to do is to apologise.”

Jalota further stated that “apologizing makes a person big,” insisting that Salman Khan should apologize immediately. When questioned about veteran lyricist Khan’s comments on Salman not needing to apologize due to his acquittal, Jalota replied, “Salim Khan sahab's perspective is absolutely valid; it’s his opinion. However, I have shared my own views.”

Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader, was murdered on October 12 by three attackers outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Mumbai's Bandra area. The police have arrested 26 people in connection with the case, using the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
