FAZILKA: Intensifying its war againts drugs,
Counter Intelligence Ferozepurhas arrested a young smuggler, having contacts with Pakistani smugglers and recovered 3.5 kg heroin. This consignment, consisting of 7 packets ordered from Pakistan and dropped through drone.A case has been registered against him in the State Special Cell police station.
According to the information, the team of Counter Intelligence Ferozepur was on patrol when they reached near Lakho Ke Bahram, a young man was seen coming from the front on a bike without a number plate. When the police stopped and checked the said youth on the basis of suspicion, about three and a half kilograms of heroin packed in seven packets was recovered from the bag kept on his bike.
According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Sukha of village Mohan Ke Utaad.About four cases of heroin and theft have already been registered against him. Currently, a case has been registered against the accused in the State Special Cell police station. Police say that the accused youth has ordered this consignment from Pakistan through drone He has been produced in the court on Wednesday for interrogation in the case and taken on four-day police remand.
Meanwhile, following the report of drone movement along the border village in Fazilka, Border Security Force , with the help of Fazilka police has launched a massive search operation in the area. Giving information Hardev Singh Bedi, Station House Officer, Fazilka sadar police station said that BSF personnel deployed on the border in Muhar Sona, India-Pakistan border area of Fazilka, heard the sound of a drone at midnight.After which the BSF put its system on alert and the information was given to Fazilka police.[On receiving the information, the Fazilka police team reached the spot and together conducted a search operation for about 6 hours. The area was sealed for several kilometers but nothing has been recovered.
