Snakes are one of the most dangerous animals in the wild. At times, even more than the tigers and lions because they can inject venom to kill their enemy within seconds! But, certain animals have developed immunity from snake venom, and here we list some of them.

Mongoose

One of the most famous animals known to be immune to snake venom are the Mongoose. They can easily survive snake bites, and are even lethal to the snakes themselves.

Honey badgers

Honey badgers are the little demons of the animal kingdom. They are fierce, strong, and super daring, and take on a fight with the snake head on. In fact, it is also said that they are extremely immune to certain snake venom.

Opposum

Opossums have a natural resistance to snake venom, especially the venom of pit vipers. It is said the a certain peptide in the Opossums blood helps neutralise the effect of snake venom.

The hedgehogs too are daring animals that go after little snakes with all their energy and might. And what enables them in this is that their bodies are pretty immune to certain snake venom.

Found mostly in Africa, the Secretary bird is famous as the ‘snake killing bird’. With its sharp claws and talons, this bird is known to kill a snake with their powerful stomps.

Eagles

Some species of eagles, the snake eagle or serpent eagle as it is called, has with time developed a level of resistance to snake venom which helps them hunt snakes and eat them without harm.

Some species of wild boars are famous for being immune to snake venom, even the more dangerous ones, and can hunt and eat small snakes. At times, their thick skin also acts as a protection against the snake’s fangs.
